TVCE [ABUJA]- Nigeria’s state security service has now confirmed Eighteen casualties in the aftermath of the Sunday morning attempted jailbreak by detained boko haram suspects.
In a statement, the secret service said two operatives sustained injuries while three of the detainees died due to the gunshot injuries
But sources within the service said the number of the boko haram detainees killed during the gun battle with the security operatives
could have been well more than twenty, as the SSS is downplaying the incident just to save its face.
The sources added that the jailbreak failed because the detainees could not find their way out of the holding facility.
In an earlier interview, spokesperson for the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, made no mention of casualties.
